Position Description

The Academic Coordinator provides academic advisement for graduate programs in the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS). Coordinate and manage graduate students, resident and intern recruitment application process, and assessment and development of individual academic programs. Coordinate and manage 4th year DVM senior papers program, clinical proficiency exam, and introduction to clinics courses. Manage enrollment, grading and teaching assignments for VCS/College of Veterinary Medicine courses for professional and graduate programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of full-time academic advising experience at a college or university or related education/experience. A Master’s degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year‐for‐year basis.

  • Accreditations: WSU ACADA Level 1 certification within six (6) months of hire.

  • Experience working with student related services in higher education.

  • Strong customer services experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the veterinary medicine field.

  • Experience with student data management systems within higher education institution (myWSU or other).

  • Database management experience.
