Position Description



  • Provides professional level academic advising/counseling/coaching to students in individual and group formats; to include testing and tutoring services.

  • Conducts academic coaching, counseling, and research activities.

  • Consults with students, faculty members, and parents about academic counseling, academic policies, and academic services.

  • Provides presentations for students and staff on academic support, counseling, and study skills.

  • Collaborates with academic units in retention efforts.

  • Analyzes and maintains confidential records and files to present oral and written reports to individuals or groups.

  • Responsible for managing academic support activities such as tutoring and mentoring including oversight of graduate assistant tutors.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Entry into the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Education, Engineering, Humanities, Liberal Art or Business.

  • Must have at least 2 years experience within an academic advising or academic support unit in education.

  • Employer will consider advanced degree in lieu of experience.
