Position Description
The Coordinator, Internship and Professional Experience, develops career programs and resources to assist University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) students in their evolution into workforce-ready professionals. The Coordinator focuses on outcome-aligned internships and professional development programs, both on campus and in the community, with an emphasis on students in Liberal Arts, Science, Health, and Agriculture / Biotechnology/ Natural Resources. This position is also responsible for coordinating and supervising the Career Studio’s drop-in peer advising program, as well as developing resources and programs to meet students’ distinct needs in a diverse community. The ideal candidate will possess sufficient experience in a collegiate environment to understand the academic culture and will have a demonstrated commitment to cultural diversity.The Nevada Career Studio is committed to innovative, tech-forward programming; increasing student opportunities for experience through extracurricular engagement, internships, and other professional activities; and developing career partnerships with alumni, faculty, employers, and the community. This position reports to the Assistant Director, Career Studio.

Duties 
This position is also responsible for coordinating and supervising the Career Studio’s drop-in peer advising program, as well as developing resources and programs to meet students’ distinct needs in a diverse community. Qualifications:
 

Required Qualifications 
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and two years, or Master’s degree and one year of experience in a professional position in career development and training, higher education administration, or a related field involving work with students.

Preferred Qualifications
Strong preference given to individuals with previous experience in experiential education, career services, or other student service areas at the college/university level.
