This position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the University Advisement Center as an entity and to the University at large on general advisement issues. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that academic and career advisement is available to students at all levels and circumstances to aid them in reaching their educational and personal goals in a timely, professional and supportive manner. This position manages and directs the staff and ensures that all students who come to the Center receive the services they need, including information that is accurate and helpful, appointments with advisors as needed and referrals to other resources as appropriate. They are directly responsible for supervising the advisement of more than 3,000 undeclared and visiting students on campus, as well as developing specialized programs and course instruction for enrolled Enriched Environment students. The position is also responsible for the supervision of staff instruction of nearly 50 Student Development course sections annually involving 1,500 students.
