Position Description

Southern Illinois University Carbondale invites applications for an extra-help program/student advisor position at Naval Air Station (NAS) Mayport: Mayport, FL. We are seeking a dynamic individual that enjoys working with students, marketing and recruitment, and customer service. The full-time Civil Service position will provide benefits such as paid federal holidays, paid vacation and sick time, health insurance options, vision insurance, retirement options, optional dental insurance, and a tuition waiver for undergraduate and/or graduate programs.


  • This position will serve as the site liaison, assist with marketing and recruiting for the program, and provide academic advisement, and administrative services for SIU Carbondale’s Bachelor of Science Degree in Workforce Education and Development at NAS Mayport.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree by date of hire, available to work some Saturdays, and one year of experience in customer service. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • The successful applicant should demonstrate excellent interpersonal communication abilities and proficiency in general computer applications
