Meet
the Faculty
Susan
Campbell
- earned her undergraduate degree in speech and theatre from Ball
State University, her M.S. in Adult Education from the University
of Southern Maine, and her Ed. D. in Higher Education Administration
from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst . At the University
of Southern Maine, Campbell has held a number of administrative
positions including serving as the coordinator of off-campus centers,
director of summer session, director of financial aid, and director
of admission. She became the director of academic advising in 1993,
was promoted in 2001 to Executive Director of the Division of Advising
and Academic Resources, and in 2005 to Associate Vice-President
for Academic Affairs.
For
NACADA, Susan is the 2006-2007 President of the association and
has also served as the chair of the Assessment Institute Advisory
Board. Publications include the NACADA Guide to Assessment Advising
(2005), co-editor of the 2005 NACADA Monograph, Peer Advising: Intentional
Connections to Support Student Learning, and is a contributing author
to The Distance Learner's Guide (1999 and 2004) published by Prentice-Hall.
Susan is the recipient of the 2004 Service to NACADA Award, and
the 2005 Virginia N. Gordon Award for Excellence in Academic Advising.
Gary
Levy - Marquette University- Gary
was the Director of the Office of Budget & Institutional Analysis
at the Univerity of Utah from 2001 to October 2007, and had adjunct
professor positions in several departments, namely Educational Leadership
& Policy and Family & Consumer Studies. He has also served
as an Associate Dean of Continuing Education at the U, as well as
Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and Director of
Summer Sessions, both at the University of Wyoming . Gary has experiences
in assessment, professional and regional accreditations, program
review, survey design and research, and quantitative statistics.
In 1999-2000, Gary was an American Council on Education (ACE) Administrative
Fellow. In his life before "full-fledged" administration,
Gary completed two postdoctoral fellowships after completing his
Ph.D. in psychology from Syracuse University , and was a tenured
Professor of Psychology at the University of Wyoming . Gary also
holds a M.S. in Business Organization & Management from Capella
University. As of November 1st, Gary is now the Associate Vice Provost
for Institutional Research & Assessment at Marquette University.
Wendy
Troxel - is an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Educational Administration and Foundations teaching research
methods courses in both quantitative and qualitative methodologies,
and program evaluation and assessment. She also served as the Director
of the University Assessment Office at Illinois State University
from January 2000 to March 2005, coordinating student learning outcomes
research on campus and assisting faculty and staff with the development,
implementation, and use of assessment activities to improve learning
and development at all levels of student engagement. She is a frequent
presenter, consultant, and workshop facilitator at national and
international conferences and special events on a wide range of
topics related to the assessment of student learning.
