Overview
Use
of Logo Policy:
The proper use of the NACADA logo by Regions is a responsibility
of the Region Chair. A description of approved uses is located
at the NACADA web site at http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/PolicyProc/AssoPolicies.htm
If you have questions about this, or any other NACADA policy, do
not hesitate to contact the Executive office at nacada@ksu.edu.
Promotion
is electronically delivered
for the most part to NACADA members and usually includes:
- Monthly EO Highlights sent to all members
which contain links to Region Conference Web pages.
- E-mail through the Executive Office
to all members of Region (initiated by the Conference Chair and
Committee)
E-mail announcement samples
- Save this date announcement
- Call for Proposals on-line system announcement to allow
professionals in your region to submit proposals for concurrent
sessions, roundtables, workshops, etc. This information can
be sent by e-mail to all members of your region. If you mail
a postcard, it can also serve as an announcement of the conference
dates and place and point readers to the web page for the
on-line submission process.
- Upcoming deadlines approaching
- Special announcments as needed leading up to the conference.
- News releases on a local level.
The
Region Conference Website is the focus of dissemination of
information regarding the conference. Keeping this updated
is of vital importance. Region conference chairs or a designated
committee member, sends updates to the NACADA Liaison (matteson@ksu.edu)
for posting to the website. Please review the optimizing

before you send materials to Diane.
Information is added to the web site as it becomes available, a
registration form is posted there for duplication and the people
fax them directly to the executive office. E-mail announcements
can be sent out to current and recent members of your region
at the request of the region conference chair/committee by sending
the announcement to Diane Matteson matteson@ksu.edu.
Usually, we can send these out within 3 days, sometimes sooner.
The Region Conference Website should include:
- dates of meeting
- NACADA logo and name of the region holding
the meeting.
- host institution's name (if there is
one)
- place
- theme
- tentative agenda
- program topics
- program highlights/activities
- NBCC- Nat'l board Certified Counselor
credit explanation
- "NACADA is recognized by the
National Board of Certified Counselors to offer continuing
education units for National Certified Counselors. Information
will be available at the conference registration desk."
- hotel registration phone and fax and
information regarding date block is released
- local area attractions
- transportation information
- information about planned special events
(including extra costs)
- registration form
- refund policy
- Paid registrations can be transferred
to another person from that insitution at any time.
- "A refund of conference
fees (less a $25 handling fee) will be made only if a written
or e-mail request is received by ________ (two or three weeks
before the conference). After that date, refunds of 50% of the
registration fees will be issued. Membership fees will be retained.
- Paid registrations may be transferred
to another individual at your institution if you notify NACADA
in writing. If the substitute is not a member, the member fees
will need to be paid for that individual to obtain the member
rate."

conference is cancelled
- "NACADA cannot be responsible
for any expenses incurred by the participants (other than
registration fees) in the case of cancellation of the conference.
Registration fees will be refunded.
- The standardized registration
form (provided by the EO) contains appropriate requests for the
following information:
- special
needs request procedures (physical acessiblity and
dietary needs)
- statement to exclude individual
from published list of participants
- statement for individuals
to choose to keep directory information private
- workshop registrations customized
to your region.
The
Executive Office will work with you to create a Regional Conference
Web site on the NACADA web site. For all Regional conferences, the
web sites will be housed in the Executive Office. Updates can be
