Region IV Social Media Workshop
“Facebook as a Means of Student Outreach”

Join us for 6 hour pre-conference Facebook workshop and stay for a Regional Conference! Registration limited to 25 participants.
- The Purpose of the workshop is to build competency in the use of social media among Region IV members.
- The Event will take place prior to the Regional Conference.
- The Program is for advisors and departments looking to start or improve a Facebook Page. The workshop will be interactive, hands-on, and in a computer lab.
- Topics Include: Differences in pages/profiles/groups, recent site changes, tips & tricks to best manage time use, assessment, privacy concerns, and legal considerations.
- The cost is $60, which includes program resources, computer use, one-on-one time with presenter, and lunch.

Presenter: Brian Buckwald, Region IV Technology Coordinator
Brian Buckwald serves as the undergraduate advisor and internship coordinator the Georgia State University Department of Sociology. He has six years of experience as an advisor, three in his current role, and his professional interests include technology in advising, social media, theory, and assessment. Brian graduated from Georgia State in 2004 with a B.S. in Human Resources Development, in 2007 with a B.A. in Sociology, and in 2011 earned his M.S. in Academic Advising from Kansas State University. Brian has been involved in NACADA since 2006, regularly presents at conferences, and recently served on planning committees for the 2010 conferences in Orlando & Atlanta. In 2007, he received NACADA's Outstanding New Advisor Award. He currently also serves on the NACADA Webinar Advisory Board, NACADA Website Review Committee, and Region IV Steering Committee.
