Academic Advising Today: Voices of the Global Community

Academic Advising Today is the quarterly electronic publication (e-zine) of NACADA: The Global Community for Academic Advising.  It exists to provide a venue for sharing of advising experiences and discussion of ideas related to the theory and practice of academic advising in higher education.

  • Pardon Our Dust! The Academic Advising Today Editorial Team is delighted to be able to debut the December 2012 edition of our ePub in its new format in conjunction with the unveiling of the new NACADA website.  We wish to congratulate the members of the AAT Review Board for their vision in encouraging us to move forward from our previous “static” format to the more contemporary “dynamic” version and to thank the design and development professionals at ENGAGE for enabling us to bring that vision into reality.  In the days ahead, we will work to bring our archives of past AAT articles into the new format, which will have “tagging” capacity that will create a much richer search experience for our readers than we have been able to offer in previous formats.  We hope that all our members will be as excited about the future of our ePub as we are – and we look forward to reading your future submissions. In the interim, NACADA members should email nacada@ksu.edu if you can not find your favorite resource. 

All content is selected to support the association's five strategic goals:

  1. Address the academic advising needs of higher education globally
  2. Advance the body of knowledge of academic advising
  3. Champion the educational role of academic advising to enhance student learning and  development in a diverse world
  4. Educate university and college decision makers about the role of quality academic advising in higher education
  5. Ensure the effectiveness of the NACADA organization
