These instructions are ONLY for this
Webinar. Please read the entire page before attempting to
access the system.

Handout will provide participants with a framework for the Webinar
to utilize during the broadcast. We suggest that each participant
have a copy of this material. Please
note: If your system does not currently have
the ability to open a PDF document, you may gain that by downloading

Evaluation
Questions
Please
note: The individual who
registered for the Webinar will be asked to evaluate the Webinar
experience via the official evaluation system beginning the morning
after the event. Please note that only
one evaluation will be available for each event
registration. Evaluation questions are duplicated here for
those interested in knowing what will be asked or who wish to
distribute the survey to group members and collect responses for
an overall survey response.
Log-In
Instructions
1.
If you have not yet reviewed the system readiness instructions and
run the Wimba Wizard, please go to http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Webinars/instructions.htm and
follow the preparation instructions immediately.
Failure to do so may result in inability to access the broadcast
on the day of the event! All
content will be delivered through your web browser.
2.
If you need to check the event start time for your area, go to http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Webinars/W18.htm.
3.
If you have completed the readiness instructions and passed the
Wimba Wizard check, you are ready to move to the following instructions
to access the Meeting Room for the pre-event audio-visual
check opportunity (see your email for date and time) and
up to one hour before the Event begins.
- Enter
the requested information:
Username: Registrant's
First Name Initial and
Last Name* (examples:
jleno, bobama, jstewart)
Password: ladder
*This
must be the name of the person who registered
for the event (the name that was typed into the registration form).
NOTES
on USERNAMES:
- For
registrants with names containing an apostrophe -
- Our system is
unable to recognize this character, so it must be left out
in creating the Username. Therefore, Bill O'Reilly's
Username would be boreilly.
- For registrants whose names include
a reference identifier, such as "van" -
- The space will be removed in creating the Username.
Therefore, Dick Van Dyke's username would be dvandyke.
- For
registrants with TWO LAST NAMES -
- If
you typed the two names with a hyphen between them (i.e. Zeta-Jones),
the system recognizes those as one name, and thus Catherine
Zeta-Jones'
Username would be czeta-jones.
- If
you typed the two names with a space between them (i.e. Rodham
Clinton), the system would only recognize the final name;
therefore, Hilary Rodham Clinton's Username would be hclinton.
If
your name includes any of the above issues and you are unable
to login into the system after completing the following steps,
call the NACADA Executive Office at 785-532-5717
and ask for a Webinar Username check.
- Click 'Sign
In' to join the live session.
- You may be
taken directly to the Webinar Room, or one or all of the
following may occur before you enter the room:
- Depending
on how your computer is configured, a box may appear that says,
"This page contains both secure and non-secure items. Do
you want to display the non-secure items?"
Click "yes."
- Depending
on how your computer is configured, a box may appear that says,
"The webpage you are viewing is trying to close the window.
Do you want to close this window?" Click "yes."
(Note: If you can't get through this step,
you most likely still have a pop-up blocker
enabled on your system. The most common "culprit"
is the Google toolbar.)
- The
Wimba Wizard box may come up again. If it does, and you have
already completed the system check, simply click on the "Click
here" link within the sentence "If you have
completed the wizard previously, click here to enter
Live Classroom."
If
you experience technical difficulties before or during the event,
you may contact the Kansas State University IT HelpDesk

for assistance. HOWEVER, please
keep in mind that, if you have not done the requested preparation
(see http://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Webinars/instructions.htm)
prior to the event, there may be little
they can do to assist you at the last minute!
If you do need to call the the HelpDesk, please explain that you
are viewing a NACADA Webinar event in the WIMBA system.
