This Web site was created to introduce to advisors or administrator a way to better way of understanding some basic concepts about Web site design. An advising Web site can be one component of a larger effort to provide e-Advising services to a variety of populations. We define e-Advising as the delivery of academic advising services over an electronic medium. It is critical that the advisor perspective is added to the campus discussion regarding the development, selection, and implementation of these services. However, many advisors are unfamiliar with the technical issues surrounding the use of these components. The success of future e-Advising initiatives will require that two often separate groups on a campus, advisors and technologists, work together. This site is to assist advisors with some concepts and language, to better communicate with technologist on issues related to Web site design.
