Assessment:
Assessment is a continuous, systematic process of collecting, reflecting upon, and utilizing information gathered from multiple data-collection techniques, focused on the improvement of student learning and development (Angelo, 1995; Ewell, 2000; Marchese, 1993; Palomba, 1999; Pellegrino, Chudowsky, & Glaser, 2001), which entails the mastery of student learning outcomes. In the case of academic advising, assessment involves a broader overall view of the academic advising program and services, primarily in regard to student learning outcomes (Robbins, 2011)

Evaluation:
Evaluation is a discrete judgment of value or worth (Creamer & Scott, 2000) typically performed episodically on an individual. In the case of academic advising, evaluation concerns ratings of the performance of the individual advisor (Robbins, 2011).
