Greetings
to all! I hope the semester is winding down smoothly for all of
you and that you are ready for the holidays! I know it is a busy
time, but I wanted to remind you all of several important NACADA
opportunities and deadlines:
-
Presentation proposals are still
being accepted for several of the Regional Conferences
slated for this spring. Use
the following link to check your region’s cutoff date and
submit a proposal if there is still time. There are many faculty
issues to be addressed, and the regional conferences are a great
place to share your initiatives, programs, etc., with your colleagues.

- Plan
to attend your Regional Conference. This is an
excellent way to network with your colleagues from other campuses
and learn more about the exciting and ever evolving field of advising.
I hope to see those of you from Region 5 in Cleveland on April
20.
- Presentation
proposals are due February 10 for the 2006 National
Conference in Indianapolis. Please consider submitting a proposal
for this event. There were 23 faculty-related presentations at
the conference in Las Vegas. Let’s see if we can increase
that number to 30 at next year’s conference! If you’ve
never submitted a proposal, the Tutorial is an excellent resource
to get you started with writing a winning abstract and proposal.
- We
are in need of several readers for the National Conference proposals
related to faculty advising. This job entails evaluating each
of the proposals on a set of factors and recommending a presentation
format. The dates for reading and evaluating proposals are February
11-24, 2006. If you are interested, please let me know (stockwel@fvtc.edu).
