Re: NACADA Service to Commission Award/Ask a Colleague Initiative

Dear Commission Members:

The "Service to Commission Award" provides commissions with a special opportunity for recognizing deserving NACADA commission members who have significantly contributed to a particular commission's overall goals and objectives through their service and activities. Our commission is currently seeking nominations for this award. Our commission is one of seven commissions offering this award this year.

Detailed information on the procedures and timeline for this award, including purpose, criteria, eligibility, submission guidelines, and a nomination form can be found on the NACADA web site at www.nacada.ksu.edu/Awards/CService.htm. Complete nomination materials, including all support documents, must be submitted electronically in Word format to the NACADA Executive Office no later than APRIL 1, 2006.

Have you ever returned home from a NACADA conference and wished you could talk with another advising professional about a situation or program on your campus? The “Ask a Colleague” initiative is designed to provide opportunities for members to network, share ideas, and seek informal advice from colleagues. If you would like to volunteer your expertise to the “Ask a Colleague” initiative, submit a brief biography to me at kathydavis@missouristate.edu. Include the following information: name, institution, contact information (e-mail address, office phone number), education (degrees held), current job position, related experience (areas of expertise, special projects, etc.) and any additional insights or comments. After submission, these statements will be posted on the “Ask a Colleague” section of the Advisor Training and Development Commission web site, located at www.nacada.ksu.edu/Commissions/C17/C17-AskAColleagueInitiative.htm.
