This
commission is one of NACADA's largest with over 1600 members.
The purpose is to provide members with a network for discussing
advisor training and development issues. It also suggests projects
to the NACADA Commission & Interest Group Division Representatives
and to the Board. Past projects include a 2003 Monograph “Advisor
Training: Exemplary Practices in the Development of Advisor
Skills” and the highly successful NACADA advisor training video.
Current
goals for the commission include developing standards for advisor
training, assisting with an update of the NACADA advisor training
video, encouraging commission members to present workshops and
roundtables about advisor training and development at the state,
regional and national conferences, and further developing a
commission web site that can be a resource for training and
development.
