Theory and Philosophy of Advising Commission
Our focus is on the necessary but sometimes neglected self-reflexive work of examining the theoretical and philosophical foundations of academic advising. We eschew the official sanctioning of one theory over another; instead, we welcome the study of academic advising from any theoretical vantage point. We seek to promote the study of the theory and philosophy of academic advising, to promote the presentation of conference programs and of publication in these areas, and to promote an understanding of the importance of theory building in academic advising both within NACADA and to external groups.
