Statement:
I have
served as an advisor and/or administrator in college advising
since 1997. As a professional, I have always chosen to be a member
of national associations, which promote personal and professional
development. I see my role in academic advising as helping students
discover who they are and uncover their academic passion. As an
administrator, it is my role to provide my staff with the tools
they need to be effective advisors and find fulfillment in their
positions. I would seek to bring thes same commitment to the position
of Region 5 Chair.
My major
goals as chair would be to help increase membership and to be
fiscal responsible with our funds while encouraging members to
utilize the funds available to them to become more actively involved
in all levels of NACADA. I would also seek to work closely with
the state associations within Region 5 to support their efforts
in bettering the advising services offered to all college and
university students. By working together, we all grow stronger
and more effective in not only our professional lives but our
personal lives as well.
