Platform
Statement:
I have been actively involved in NACADA
in a variety of positions for the past 15 years. As a current
member of the Board of Directors, I have enthusiastically supported
NACADA's plan of providing quality professional development opportunities
that our members expect. The phenomenal growth this year indicates
the association is thriving, and I am excited to be a part of
it. I strongly advocate that NACADA maintains many of the traditional
values so appreciated by our members. Working in the association
at the regional and national levels has given me the experience
necessary to lead the Board and Council in implementing NACADA's
Strategic Plan.
My personal goals are
to:
-
further promote the visibility of advising by tapping potential
members, especially from underrepresented populations;
-
ensure the association includes advisors from all types of
institutions and that these groups be represented in leadership
positions according to the bylaws;
-
encourage more research and publishing to enhance the recognition
of our profession;
-
continue to enhance professional development opportunities
for our members.
Lastly, I am most honored to be nominated and will serve NACADA
to the best of my ability.
