Statement:
As the Michigan Liaison
and a Steering Committee member for the Great Lakes Region V for
the last six years, I have participated in the reorganization
and development of Region activities. I am seeking election as
the Great Lakes Region V Chair in order to continue in an ongoing
leadership role for the Region, and to facilitate the continued
growth and success that the Region has experienced over the years.
I believe Michigan during my tenure as Liaison has made real progress
toward a more cohesive state organization to support the academic
advising profession, and is on the way to developing an active
state allied organization.
Through strong institutional,
state and province, and regional activities, NACADA will contunue
to be the backbone of the Academic Advising profession. Therefore,
I believe as Great Lakes Region V Chair, it will be important
to insure that the already established and newly developing institutional,
state, and province organizations in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana,
Ohio, Ontario and Michigan have the regional and national support
they need to continue to thrive. My goal as the Great Lakes Region
Chair will be to promote and foster an environment throughout
the Region where all levels of academic advising organizations
and activities will flourish.
