Statement:
-
Highlight your previous involvement within this unit that will
help you in leading this unit. What roles have you played within
this particular unit as a member thus far?
I'm new to official membership in NACADA, though I've used its
resources for several years. After attending the commission meeting
at the national conference this year, I am so excited about the
possibilities within the commission!
-
What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives
for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit
and the Association?
I believe that participation from the members of the commission
is the most important goal we are working towards. We need to
find the niche for ESL/International advising within NACADA and
work to bring attention to issues surrounding the students we
serve.
- Why are
you interested in serving in this leadership position or what
influenced you to run for this leadership position?
I would love the opportunity to help lead the group toward our
goals. Though relatively new to the field, I have a great passion
for students with international backgrounds. I think our commission
can be a huge resource within NACADA and with others in the field.
