	Platform Statement: Highlight your previous involvement within this unit that will help you in leading this unit.  What roles have you played within this particular unit as a member thus far?

I have been a member of the awards committee most recently for the past 3 years and a member of the awards oversight committee for the past two years. Throughout my 17 years with NACADA, I have served on this committee several times. I believe the NACADA Awards are quite prestigious and are an excellent means of recognizing the very best in our profession. I pledge to continue the fine work of this committee and uphold the status of the the NACADA Awards Program by ensuring the awards are carefully and fairly chosen so as not to lessen their significance.

What do you believe are the most important goals and initiatives for this unit in meeting the strategic plan for both the unit and the Association?

The most important goals of the Awards Committee are:

• Conduct committee business in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure the thorough review of nominee's packets.
• Encourage increased nominations while maintaining integrity of awards.

Why are you interested in serving in this leadership position or what influenced you to run for this leadership position?

I believe the Awards Program is an important part of our association and, having served on this committee in the past, I feel that I can effectively conduct the business of the committee.
