NACADA Research Symposium

Advising Seminar: Building and Supporting a Research Agenda within the Scholarship of Advising

February 5-6, 2018
Daytona Beach, FL

(just after the Assessment Institute and just prior to the Administrators' Institute)

Join us for 2 days of research at the NACADA Research Symposium, now with TWO FOCUSED TRACKS!

Track 1:  Research Project (for individual researchers and research teams)

Track 2:  Supporting a Research Agenda (for Advising Administrators and/or Coordinators)

Come with Research Ideas — Leave with an action plan.

A few fun facts about the NACADA Research Symposium/Advising Seminar

  • The purpose of the seminar is to build a community of scholars. It is open to all those in the academic advising profession.
  • The Research Project Track is designed for researchers at all levels who are ready to transform their ideas into scholarly works.
  • The Supporting a Research Agenda Track is designed for academic administrators who are interested in developing the structures and organizational elements to encourage and support advising-related scholarship on their campus.
  • The agenda will include: large group discussions (including plenary sessions with both groups), small group interactions, independent work, and one-on-one time with research mentors.
  • Participants will receive materials including pertinent articles related to research in advising, among other useful tools.

Looking for ways to double your professional development productivity?

  • Participants attending the Assessment Institute can consider the possibilities for more generalizable research by attending both sessions!
  • Advising Administrators and Coordinators: Come a couple days early and add "setting a research agenda" to the action plans you'll develop at the Administrators' Institute
