Position Description

This position will report to the Director of Advising in the UNLV College of Sciences. The Advisor will be responsible for advising and disseminating information for 12 degree programs to students with majors in the sciences and mathematics. Work with students on complicated issues regarding placement and degree progress, and refer to appropriate campus resources in order to retain students at UNLV until graduation. Participate in outreach activities, new student orientation and group advising. Ability to act as a team player in a collegial manner with the Director, Associate Director and other team members is a must. The position requires excellent English interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; must have good computer skills. Conscientious attention to detail is a must. Two positions will be filled from this search.
