Candidate for this position will report to the Director of Advising in the UNLV College of Sciences. The Advisor will be responsible for advising and disseminating information for 12 degree programs to freshmen with majors in the sciences and mathematics. Work with freshmen on complicated issues regarding placement and degree progress, and refer to appropriate campus resources in order to retain freshmen at UNLV to the sophomore year. Participate in outreach activities and new student orientation. Ability to act as a team player in a collegial manner with the Director, Associate Director and other team members is a must. The position requires excellent English interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; must have good computer skills. Conscientious attention to detail is a must.

Required Qualifications 
This position requires a Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university and one year related experience. Science or math degree preferred.
