NOTE: In addition to a Resume/CV, please include a Cover Letter. USC’s Office of Undergraduate Programs - Academic Counseling Services is seeking an Academic Advisor to join its team. The Student Services Advisor I will work collaboratively with a team of Lead Advisors to help foster intellectual and personal development for Pre-Engineering and Exploratory/Undecided Major students. The advising team empowers students to make informed decisions that contribute to academic success. Additionally, the Student Services Advisor I will assist in the programming for students in the Undergraduate Success Program.
This position provides a broad range of student-related functions, such as: Provide holistic advising and administrative support to an assigned group of Pre-Engineering and Exploratory/Undecided students on an individual or group basis. May meet with parents to provide information and facilitate problem resolution. Develop a communication strategy to promote student programs and resources. Distribute information via email, website, and a digital newsletter. Utilize WordPress, Canva, Qualtrics, and video capture tools. Interface with campus partners to exchange and update information on major and minor options and academic opportunities. Consistent use of the USC Advisement Database and other university information systems.
