Position Description

Ball State University’s Division of Online and Strategic Learning is accepting applications for an Academic Advisor and Recruiter.

Duties

  • Act as academic advisor for online academic programs (undergraduate and graduate)
  • Provide support for students to understand and meet academic requirements
  • Support and leverage student recruitment activities for the purpose of meeting individual program and enrollment goals.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. One year of relevant experience (for example: teaching, counseling, advising or online/distance program support/administration). Excellent oral and written communication skills; high degree of commitment to customer service; strong focus on detail and task completion; highly organized with good analytical skills; demonstrated competency in the use of word processing, spreadsheets, database, email and Internet applications. Candidates must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications: Direct experience assisting college-level students; additional years of related experience.
