Position Description

Functions in the capacity as an academic advisor, providing relevant counsel and guidance to HRSM undergraduate student population. Student counsel is inclusive of: academic and career pathways, study abroad, and leadership opportunities. Initiate approval process of required confidential electronic forms, and utilize numerous advising technologies that aid in proficiency of student counsel.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Masters degree in Student Services or related field and 1 year related experience, or bachelor’s degree and 3 years related experience.
  • Experience in student services, USC student records, or equivalency.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communications skills.
  • Extensive computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, database software, and coding systems used to collect and analyze data.
  • Knowledge of advisement policies and procedures.
  • Ability to provide student counseling; and ability to establish working relationships with students, parents, faculty, staff and general public.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing advising technologies and resources including EAB Student Success Collaborative, Self-Service Carolina (Banner), scheduling software, Degree Works, and Bulletin.
