The Assistant Director provides leadership and coordination for all aspects of academic coaching, learning strategies consulting and academic advising within the Academic Success Center (ASC) and coordinates university-wide undergraduate academic progress and student success programs. Performs other duties as assigned.
- STUDENT SERVICES MANAGEMENT: 40% - Essential
Oversees all administrative, planning, assessment, and implementation activities for the following functions: academic coaching, learning strategies consulting, and academic advising for former students re-enrolling and exploratory students. Develops, implements, and oversees university-wide undergraduate mid-term academic progress and academic recovery programs.
- ACADEMIC ADVISING AND COACHING: 25% - Essential
Provides individualized academic and developmental advising and/or coaching to undergraduate students in transition. Makes referrals to other University resources as appropriate.
- PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT: 20% - Essential
Supervises four full-time professional staff members (academic advising and coaching specialists) and two part-time staff members (academic advising and coaching specialist and academic counselor. Manages recruitment, selection, training, evaluation and supervision of assigned staff. Oversees employee timekeeping procedures and records.
- DEPARTMENTAL LEADERSHIP: 15% - Essential
Represents the department at new student orientation and other outreach activities. Serves on departmental and University task forces and committees. Assists with departmental assessment and research activities. Participates in or leads divisional and university advising initiatives. Executes special projects as assigned by the director.

Master’s degree, preferably in higher education, college student personnel, human services, counseling, psychology, or other related discipline.
4+ yrs of experience in academic advising, coaching, and/or counseling services in higher education; Experience in supervisory role; development of academic success or academic recovery programs.
