The Assistant Director of Retention and Academic Advising for Minority Student Success is responsible for facilitating and coordinating retention-related initiatives and advising services for students, especially underrepresented minority students. In conjunction with the Director of Retention & Academic Advising, this position monitors, evaluates, and reports data about the academic progression, retention, and graduation rates of students, particularly among the underrepresented minority student population.

A master’s degree required in adult and higher education, counseling, educational leadership, student personnel, psychology, or related field. Demonstrated knowledge of issues concerning retention and student success are essential. Excellent oral, written, and data presentation skills are necessary.
Experience in advising, mentoring, training, and the design and assessment of academic support programming is desirable. Proficiency with Excel. Experience with analysis of data also is highly desirable.
