Position Description

We invite candidates to apply for our Assistant Registrar for Records and Graduation position. The Assistant Registrar is the lead for the facilitation of all graduation processes. The Assistant Registrar will collaborate with the Information Technology Department to manage the ongoing maintenance, support, and training of the college’s degree audit system. In addition, the Assistant Registrar will supervise two Transcript Evaluators and the transcript evaluation process, will be responsible for assisting the Registrar in key areas, and in the absence of, acting as the Registrar to provide service to students and the college community with convenient, responsible, and reliable access to academic records and information. May be required to work occasional evening and/or weekend. Responsible for demonstrating LSSC’s core value of Service Excellence: respect, competence, responsiveness and collaboration.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution required. Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Required: A minimum of 2 years in a professional role within a college/university Admissions, Records, IT, Advising Office or other similar areas. Demonstrated professional experience working with a student information system (SIS).

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated experience working with Ellucian’s Banner and Degree Works-degree audit system. Demonstrated supervisory experience. Knowledge of FERPA regulations. Demonstrated experience with college transcript evaluation. Demonstrated professional experience with coding in a degree audit system or working with students to determine academic progress using a degree audit system.
