The Director of the Engineering Advising Center (EAC) directs and guides the full array of advising related programs and activities in the College and manages the administrative and operational activities. The Director occupies a key position within CoE, working in collaboration with deans, faculty, staff, and students to promote and enhance the quality of academic advising through the College and University. The Director reports to the Executive Director for Student Affairs and directly supervises the Academic Advisors within the EAC. The Director also works closely with the Office of the Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education to ensure academic success for our students. In addition to the above responsibilities, this position oversees first-year, international and transfer orientation. The Office of Student Affairs serves students, the College, the University, and the larger society by contributing to the intellectual and personal growth of our students. The entire staff shares with faculty and academic departments the task of facilitating and guiding the students' academic path through the College. The staff helps students achieve their dreams and explore beyond them.

- A record of demonstrated accomplishment and responsibility in academic advising in a college or university setting.
- A record of demonstrated understanding of developmental issues facing students in Engineering.
- The ability to articulate a clear vision for academic advising to many constituents.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervision of professional staff.
- Proven leadership in academic advising in higher education, and student services and/or academic administration in a four-year institution.
- The ability to direct all aspects of undergraduate advising, activities, and resources for engineering students in the College, supporting efforts aligned with the College mission, values, and DEI commitments.
- Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology, including computerized degree audits, and/or student electronic management systems.
- The ability to understand and manage the implications of evolving information technology in today's student academic advising environment.
- Ability to form consensus and work as a player in a team atmosphere.
- Excellent communication skills.
- The capacity for creative problem solving, innovation, and anticipating future needs. The ability to work in a collaborative fashion with colleagues across the College and University.
- Involvement in a national organization devoted to the improvement of academic advising.
- Master's degree in a related field.
