Position Description

Lynchburg College in Virginia seeks a highly-motivated and energetic leader with a proven record of success in fostering and supporting student achievement and success. The Executive Director of the Academic Achievement Center will advance the college’s strategic goal to increase student achievement and retention by contributing significantly to the enhancement of a campus already known for being student centered. The Executive Director reports to the Vice President and Dean for Academic Affairs and serves as the college’s chief retention officer. The Executive Director will be a part of a team of dynamic professionals and a college community who provides students with a transformative experience.

Duties

The Executive Director oversees first-year, second-year, transfer, commuter, adult students, advising, disability, academic tutoring and support services and programs, which are essential to student achievement and success at Lynchburg College.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree, with 7-10 years of experience in academic advising and student services at the college level.
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of ADA preferred.
