Position Description

Purdue University’s Ecological Sciences & Engineering Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (ESE-IGP) provides students with educational and research experiences integrating engineering and science concepts to solve major environmental problems using an ecological approach.  Be a part of our team.  What we make moves the world forward.


  • Coordinate student services for the ESE-IGP graduate students.

  • Responsible for maximizing student retention by providing guidance to enrolled students and monitoring progress of advisees towards achieving their educational goals.

  • Administer OIGP sponsored events.

  • Oversee application processing for the life sciences and assist in implementation of recruitment initiatives with OIGP staff.

  • Develop and provide reports for the OIGP and its affiliates. 

  • Create and maintain student record reports, prepare interdisciplinary program statistics for recruitment, enrollment, and retention. 

  • Respond to requests for grant submissions, and compile survey information.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years' experience in academic advising, student services or related field.
  • In lieu of degree, consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
  • Excellent oral / written communications skills, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and with prospective students, faculty, and staff.
  • Ability to work well with multiple demands and constituencies while meeting deadlines.
  • Proficient in: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience with student records maintenance, reporting, tracking student milestones and accomplishments in programs, and/or higher education.
  • Experience with graduate students preferred.
