Position Description

Duties

The Professional Advisor will work in a shared advising model with faculty, career and peer advisors. Dedicated to student success, the Professional Advisor will serve as a trusted and consistent resource to students, providing accurate and reliable information to assist them in meeting academic and personal goals. The Professional Advisor possesses a high attention to detail, demonstrates strong interpersonal skills, embraces advising technology, thinks critically and possesses an understanding of college student development theory. Professional advisors should have an understanding of developmental advising and possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

A Master’s degree in student affairs, counseling or related field and experience counseling students in curricular exploration is preferred. Experience working with diverse student populations in a higher education setting required.
