Position Description

Roosevelt University is seeking an Assistant Registrar, Registration Services. The Assistant Registrar of Registration Services oversees the daily operations of the Chicago registration services office ensuring that all personnel provide an outstanding level of customer service to students, faculty, staff and the public. This position is responsible for troubleshooting all service issues and providing systematic improvements as needed. In addition, this position is responsible for end-of-term grade processes and providing key support to the Associate Registrar related to all record systems.


Develop exemplary customer service practices through the cross-training of all personnel in Registration Services on the Banner system, on FERPA regulations, issuance of official and non-official transcripts, degree verification, and on the implementation of any new systems related to daily operations. Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with students, staff, and faculty on issues related to grades, academic standing and other records related queries. Manage and supervise the records systems including the roll of grade processes at the conclusion of each defined term coordinating with the Associate Registrars and IT services as needed. Coordinate and supervise the Registrar’s Office document management process and procedures (BDMS). Support the initiatives and projects of the Associate Registrars and the University Registrar.

Required Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in a related field. A minimum of 3 years experience working in higher education. Ability to work with extreme accuracy. Ability to analyze problems and develop logical solutions. Ability to implement process / procedures to create department improvements. Excellent organizational, communication (written and verbal), interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining good working relationships. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to service excellence by embodying Roosevelt’s core values, mission, and vision in every aspect of the role working with students, faculty, staff, and visitors. A positive and professional demeanor is a must. Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience working with Banner (SIS) is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
