UNLV is located on a 332-acre main campus and two satellite campuses in Southern Nevada.ROLE of the POSITIONThe person in this position will serve as an integral member of the Learning Support Team in the Academic Success Center (ASC). The person in this position will assist the Director of Learning Support with achieving the goals of the Learning Support Unit within the Academic Success Center. S/he will coordinate the day-to-day functions of the ASC Tutoring Program (Drop-in Locations at the Lied Library and College of Engineering, Online Tutoring, and programs relating to tutoring functions). The person in this position will be responsible for assisting in staff recruitment, training, supervision, evaluations, and program assessment. Staffing in the Tutoring Program includes graduate assistants and undergraduate student tutors, tutor mentors, student front desk managers, and student volunteers. Additionally, s/he will oversee all aspects of program development, which includes identifying the best program design to meet the needs of the students. The person in the position will assist the Director of Learning Support with consulting and working with faculty, department chairs, and college deans to partner and deliver services for campus retention, progression, and completion initiatives. S/he will coordinate campus communication and marketing of tutoring programs via multiple mediums (web, print, presentations) to educate and inform the campus community of program services. The person in this position is responsible for good daily record keeping and management to assess program effectiveness for the creation of end of program reports by collecting and compiling data from qualitative and quantitative surveys, usage, and grades. S/he will also assist with strategic planning for the program, which may include budget oversight and goal development, and collaborate with all areas of the Learning Support unit and ASC as programs continue to expand all the services.

This position requires a Bachelor's in Math, Science, Education, Master's preferred in Math, Science, or Education from a regionally accredited college or university and one year of experience working in a learning center or equivalent. The person in this position will need to have effective skills in interpersonal communication, creativity, resourcefulness, and follow-through, as well as, computer literacy, data reporting, student staff management, and training skills. A working knowledge of best practices and professional standards for Tutoring programs such as College Reading and Learning Association is desirable.SALARY RANGESalary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions.
